About Project

As the popularity of electric scooters, skateboards and other micro-mobility devices surged on campus, Cal Poly Public Safety recognized an urgent need to address safety concerns and reduce near-collisions among students, faculty, and staff. In response, the “Go Safely, Mustangs” campaign was launched in collaboration with the California Office of Traffic Safety. ​

This comprehensive internal communication effort sought to establish a campus-wide “Safety Culture” through digital signage, web content, printed signs, email and social media outreach. By fostering awareness and providing practical reminders on topics like helmets, visibility and adherence to traffic signs, the campaign successfully heightened campus safety awareness. It contributed to a reduction in micro-mobility-related incidents, creating a safer environment for all.
