About Project

Chris Fickett is Senior Content Specialist for Firesign | Enlightened Legal Marketing and is responsible for creating written content to promote Firesign’s clients as well as Firesign’s services. A significant part of his role is researching, drafting, and submitting nominations to awards and rankings programs to earn relevant recognition by local, regional and national publications for our agency’s and our clients’ work and results.
Highlights of this year’s nominations to date include:
-95% success rate for clients’ legal rankings
-89% success rate for Firesign individual and project awards
-64% success rate for clients’ individual awards
This year, his first working in the legal marketing industry after more than two decades as an award-winning journalist, Chris wrote nine award nominations for Firesign, eight of which won recognition. Among the eight award wins Chris helped secure for the agency: Firesign’s Managing Partner was selected to Ragan PR Daily’s 2023 Top Women in Marketing Agency Leaders, alongside leads from global firms including Edelman and Manifest Group; and its vice president was a finalist for Female Executive of the Year in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. In addition, two of the agency’s website redesign projects won multiple awards, including Lawyerist’s Best Law Firm Websites Contest, an honor that produced multiple new business leads that, at the time of this submission, have resulted in the agency gaining at least one new client.
Chris was even more prolific when nominating Firesign’s law firm clients for legal rankings from reputable and independent rating services that take into account the quality of casework, results delivered, references and more, such as Chambers and Partners, Benchmark Litigation and others. According to Greentarget’s State of Digital and Content Marketing Survey, half of in-house counsel and 56% of the C-suite say these accolades matter when screening new outside firms, and Chris significantly holds a 95% success rate building credibility in key practice areas and markets for Firesign clients. Chris made 15 ranking submissions on behalf of the agency’s law firm clients, and 14 led to improved or debut rankings or maintained a firm’s status.
Chris’ individual award nominations on behalf of Firesign clients was also impressive. Chris nominated 14 agency clients and nine won awards, a 64% success rate. Among the individual honors secured with Chris’ help: the Denver Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO Awards and St. Louis Small Business Monthly’s Top Veteran Employees, an honor that landed Chris’ nominee on the front cover. All three attorneys he nominated for the IAM Strategy 300, a prestigious list of the world’s top intellectual property lawyers, were selected – a point that is particularly notable considering Altman Weil reports that an individual lawyer’s specific experience and reputation is the No. 1 hiring factor for corporate clients.
