About Project
In this series, Health Monitor Network and Genentech have come together to bring together the foremost medical experts, including Yale oncologist Maryam Lustberg, MD, and breast surgeon Regina Hampton, MD, to enlighten and empower women facing a diagnosis of HER2+ breast cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer that tests positive for a protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). This protein promotes the growth of cancer cells.
Throughout the podcast, featured medical experts provide answers to listeners’ top questions and share insights and practical tips that help those facing this diagnosis move ahead with clarity and confidence. Each eight-to-10-minute episode features insights and tips from such experts as an oncologist breast surgeon, nutrition therapist and clinical psychologist.
The series also dedicates one commercial spot apiece to programs that promote awareness and support for those diagnosed with Her2+, including HER2 Empowered, which helps those newly diagnosed with Her2+ navigate treatment options, and HERConnection, a free personalized support program for people with HER2+ early breast cancer who are taking Genentech medicines.
In the first episode, Yale School of Medicine oncologist Maryam Lustberg, MD, explains what it means to be diagnosed with HER2+—and why today’s advances mean those facing this diagnosis have every reason to feel confident in their futures.
