Book Design: A Design Story Beyond Borders — designed for the architect Mohanad Barakat.
The latest definitive volume reads as a precisely orchestrated journey through his practice. It opens with disciplined typography and a lucid contents structure—Accomplishments, Design Style, Awards, and beyond. Each spread calibrates generous white space with expressive material: hand sketches, line-work analyses, concept diagrams, and process narratives that show how fluid ideas become rigorous architecture. The visual rhythm is deliberate and elegant, presenting Barakat’s organic geometries with editorial precision and a collector’s attention to detail.
The book is presented in a bespoke walnut box. Its lid is crowned by a sculpted, chrome-plated relief whose flowing topography echoes Barakat’s signature lines, discreetly finished with his engraved name. Warm timber and cool metal meet to create a refined, tactile statement, a protective case that is itself a piece of design.
