About Project

British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Marketing and Communications partners closely with select BCIT students as part of the BCIT Student Influencer program. This program plays a key role in student recruitment and brand awareness efforts because it provides valuable student storytelling by showcasing unique BCIT student experiences throughout our five campuses.
Through this program, BCIT Student Influencers work with the BCIT Marketing and Communications team to create social media content for the Institute BCIT social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Youtube). These content are engaging and informative, often deeply resonating with our various audiences across different social media platforms.
The BCIT primary audience on TikTok is prospective students ages 18-35. BCIT content uploaded to this channel are short-form, vertical videos that emphasize authenticity, leverage humour, and elevate the student experience through relatability.
The submitted TikTok video reached 1.2M views on TikTok alone. This is a 150% increase from the average views of the BCIT TikTok channel. As one of our highest performing videos, this video generated 121.4K likes and more than 2600 shares.
