About Project
The Town of Orangeville is abundant with many exciting things to see and do for residents and visitors. To reflect its small-town historic charm, and vibrant and friendly community, the Town sought a new microsite to showcase their community spirit and brand in an engaging platform that brings all their tourism content and campaigns to one central place.
The ultimate goal for Love, Orangeville is to spark more interest and visitor attraction by making information more readily available, spotlighting can't-miss activities, showcasing businesses and events, and offering tourism supports to make every visit to Orangeville a fun, relaxing and exciting one, whether it be for individuals or families.
With the support of GHD Digital (formerly eSolutionsGroup), the Town of Orangeville launched its new tourism microsite in January 2022. The new web presence presents a creative design, showcasing the Town and its unique tourism brand – from colourful buttons and search functions to stunning borders, fonts and images. With captivating layout designs that bring these features together, the Town is able to effectively tell its story and demonstrate its unique offerings to visitors through an engaging platform.
With the site responsive on for all devices, users experience an inclusive and welcoming environment. Built to meet legislated web accessibility standards and citizens' modern digital demands, the new site ensures Love, Orangeville does not skip a beat in highlighting its many attractions and offerings.
The new events calendar exemplifies a modern look on the traditional grid calendar view. With interactive tabs, category options and clearly defined event information, users are invited to browse the various upcoming events with ease and clarity. Users can also subscribe to their favourite events to receive email notifications when events are added and modified so they don’t miss out. Google Maps is also seamlessly integrated within the event view to allow users a quick glance at where the event is located – a fully immersive browsing experience!
Another unique feature that separates Love, Orangeville from its heavy Ontario tourism competition is the interactive Business Directory that provides users with advanced search functionality for navigating the diverse businesses within the community, enabling them to find the perfect place to stay or shop. This directory also allows users to favourite their spots for future visits.
Overall, the new microsite shines brightly on the authentic, welcoming community experience and serves as a stylish and effective first point of contact and source of information for thousands of annual visitors.
