Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP is a leading full-service law firm in Long Island, NY. The firm is known for its business & transactional practice group, servicing the mid- and upper-mid market prevalent on Long Island.

In exploring B2B marketing opportunities for the firm, Chief Marketing Officer Roy Schwartz realized that Long Island—home to 3 million residents and over 100,000 businesses—had never held an inclusive business expo; similar events in the past have all been limited to a specific industry, chamber of commerce, or other organization on locality.

Mr. Schwartz originated the idea of producing the first, and with the backing of the firm, approached Richner Live, the event production arm of media corporation Richner Communications, to form a partnership.

On March 3, 2026, Vishnick McGovern Milizio and Richner Live produced the HERALD LONG ISLAND BUSINESS SUMMIT—the first Island-wide, cross-industry business expo in Long Island history.

Sponsored by Bank of America, the Long Island Business Summit was a one-day business conference, trade show, and networking event catering to a wide range of business owners, from young startups to family retail stores to multigenerational real estate holding companies.

Programming was robust, including two exhibitor halls, networking sessions, panels and workshops, an awards luncheon for community-minded small and privately held businesses, and $15,000 investment grants by Bank of America.

The Business Summit proved a massive success, surpassing expectations considerably. It featured 24 speakers—including keynotes fashion mogul Steve Madden and sports executive Brandon Steiner—over 50 exhibitors, and nearly 500 attendees.

As a result, Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP and Richner Live will continue to co-produce the Long Island Business Summit annually, with plans to expand its scope already underway, with Mr. Schwartz and his team leading the effort.
