About Project

The Cotton Bowl is one of the most prestigious bowl games in all of college football. With the first game dating back to 1937, the Cotton Bowl is rich in history and deserved branding that highlighted the nostalgia and legacy of the game. To evolve the branding for this special event, we focused our efforts on respecting and elevating the only “Classic” bowl on and off the field. From yard lines to blood lines and timelines, the Cotton Bowl celebrates, honors and reminds us of the value of experiencing the game of football together. Football is a sport that unites us in the love of competition and acts as a cultural thread that ties us together. Inspired by the Cotton Bowl trophy, the Eternal Crossroads graphic element represents the convergence of the teams and the fans when attending the event and the legendary ever-expanding timeline of the Cotton Bowl Classic. A crossroad is a strong element that directly ties into Goodyear’s title sponsorship. The thread-like treatment of this graphic also references the cotton aspect of the bowl’s namesake while maintaining a versatile, colorful, and energetic visual element.
