About Project

On May 11, 2022, Al Jazeera Palestine correspondent, Shireen Abu Akleh, was killed by an Israeli sniper while conducting her journalistic duty, wearing Press helmet and vest clearly identifying her as a journalist.
In the past year, international independent investigations were commissioned by the United
Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and other trusted renowned international media outlets. The investigations all reached the same conclusion: confirming the eyewitness accounts that Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by the Israeli Forces.
The one-year campaign was to track the days until justice is served for Shireen and for press freedom.
