Green Initiatives of SLIS:
SPECIAL BINS FOR PAPER RECYCLING - In SLIS, in order to reduce paper waste and promote recycling, special boxes have been placed in the administrative building for the disposal of used paper to be sent to recycling facilities.
PROMOTING PAPER RECYCLING - Used and spoiled papers are thrown in special bins for further recycling purposes by staff. Special attention is given to sending paper to recycling facilities and minimizing the use of paper materials.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - For the sake of green world, efficient use of electrical energy is crucial for achieving a clean environment. Electrical energy is used efficiently by staff - “Less Energy Better Green World”.
TREE PLANTING INITIATIVES - Tree planting campaigns are held continuously. The main goals of these campaigns are to increase green spaces, promote tree planting to protect the environment, enhance floral biodiversity, and contribute to raising awareness about the preservation of greenery.
GREEN PUBLIC AWARENESS INITATIVES - SLIS organizes green public events:
• Conferences on the topic of 'The Impact of Climate Change on Occupational Safety‘.
• Campaigns on the topic of "Organization of labor protection in the changing climate".
• Webinars on the topic of "Climate change impact on labor safety and health".
GREEN GLOBAL INITIATIVES OF AZERBAIJAN:
• In Azerbaijan, 2024 has been declared the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World".
• The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Azerbaijan at Nov 2024.
• One of the National Priorities of Azerbaijan 2030 for socio-economic development is "green energy".
• Among Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary, the issue of constructing a green energy cable from Azerbaijan to Europe via the Black Sea is being executed.
