About Project
This 3-minute video features Norma (age 71) and Art Menard (age 73), a 47-year married couple that began offering free technology training classes for older adults at their local library thanks to the Senior Planet licensing program.
Before retirement, Art taught 7th and 8th grade math while Norma worked her way up from volunteer to Director of the Literacy Volunteers of Clinton County. They came across Senior Planet's free online classes during the pandemic, and saw firsthand how much it helped them stay connected using technology. When they heard about the launch of the licensing program, they knew that it would be something that would benefit their community.
The Senior Planet licensing program powerfully equips local organizations across the country with the tools to help older adults access technology and use it to enhance their lives. Senior Planet’s licensing structure works with community-based organizations to develop local trainers to deliver Senior Planet’s proprietary curriculum to older adults in their locales. The free program is open to public, private, and 501(c)3 organizations that serve older adults.
